It just took them 3 years to write an assembly AAC decoder thats fast enough
for the Wii. :)

AAC doesn't get cheaper unless you sell more than a million units a year.
So Nintendo must think this Wii fad isn't going away anytime soon.
Fraunhofer did have a flat rate unlimited licensing option but thats what
got MS their $1.5 billion payment to Alcatel.

There haven't been many rail shooters lately more enjoyable than "Dead
Space - Extraction" (Amazon.com: http://tr.im/HeQZ ), released by
Electronic Arts for Nintendo's Wii console. Extraction provides a
frantic, moderately frightening, generally casual science-fiction
horror experience without any intellectual heavy lifting required.
Instead, Extraction is unabashedly old school in its exclusive
reliance on sharp eyes and quick trigger fingers. After all, when
you're being chased around a distant planet and a creepy old spaceship
by ravenous packs of space zombies, what else do you need?
