Netflix on Wii is not worth it, at least for me, with the non HD
quality videos.

I've been trying to buy a wii console locally (Southern California)
since Jan 1. Nothing at Best Buy. Nothing at Target. Nothing at
Game Stop. And none of them knows when more will be in. What is
going on? Any thoughts on when they will be available in retail
stores?

A much larger percentage of 360 owners have their 360 online already, and
have a Gold account for gaming purposes. I doubt very much there's a
significant number of people whose only purpose for having a Gold account
is to stream movies from Netflix.

The percentage of Wii owners who have their console connected online is
much much lower than that of 360 owners. For some it's because of child
safety reasons. For others they just don't care, or don't know about the
feature - which is my point - Netflix on the Wii isn't going to suddenly
convince any significant number of Wii owners to suddenly take their Wii
online.

From a marketing standpoint, it's nice to be able to say "yeah, we can do
that too" but honestly it's rather silly to spend resources supporting a
feature that not many of your customers are ever going to bother using.

# Wii – 50.39 million, as of 31 October 2009 (2009 -10-31)
# Xbox 360 – 34 million,as of 2 October 2009 (2009 -10-02)

It's hard to get exact numbers but back in march there was an article
that said that about 50% of XBox360 users used Live and 29% of Wii users
used whatever the Wii thing is.

From a marketing standpoint, well, do the math.

.29*50mil == 14.5 million
.5*34 == 17 million

Almost a draw.

ESPN360.com is actually a website that you have to pay for right now.
Many cable operators are including free access to it for their
subscribers. I assume this would be the same type of deal except free
for all Xbox users. Of course with the Xbox you'd be able to watch it on
your TV instead of on your computer.

Who really cares?

The head of Nintendo US said Netflix on the Wii is a waste of time and I
have to agree with him. Most Wii owners have never hooked up their Wii to
the internet and I doubt this new feature is going to convince them to
suddenly try.

As for ESPN on the 360...again, I have to sort of wonder why. I mean, if
I want to watch ESPN, all I have to do is flip the TV over to the
satellite box. If I'm using my 360 it's because I don't want to watch TV.

Does anyone out there look at the videos, commericals and related stuff on
Xbox Live right now? Most of it is stuff you can get elsewhere on the
internet, or just by watching TV, or is just uninteresting to me.

It's just you.

Netflix on Xbox Live is very popular. I watch movies as much as I play
games and at any given time half the people on my friends list are
watching movies on Netflix.

And I'm seeing more and more of my friends using Last.FM. I'm
streaming music that I can't find anywhere else several hours a day
rather than listening to a radio or watching TV.

I read a lot of good things about Little King's Story, so I bought it.
When my granddaughter came to our house, we started a game, but got
stuck trying to leave the house.

There's an arrow indicating the way out, and a cow that keeps pulling
the king away. But we haven't figured out how to get started. We
have talked with the 3 people we have seen.

What did we miss?
